History

Architecture

The castle's architecture is characterized by its unique layout, with three corps de logis grouped around a courtyard. A stone spiral staircase provides access from the courtyard to various buildings at different levels.

  • The 18th century saw the construction of a large perron at the length of the courtyard façade of the western logis.
  • A second perron, now dismantled, gave access from the park to the southern buildings.

Notable Features and Rooms

Inside the castle, rooms have retained their 17th-century woodwork, with plafonds à la française (French-style ceilings). The French-style ceilings feature joists of the same width as the spaces between them.
