• The castle has been home to the Pouget de Chavailles family for over 175 years. François-Antoine Pouget inherited the estate in 1748 and was later succeeded by his daughter Claire, who married Pierre-Antoine de Chavailles in 1771.
• The Pouget de Chavailles family managed the château for nearly two centuries, facing both challenges and successes. During the French Revolution, their properties were requisitioned, but they also achieved notable classifications, including being designated as a fourth Cru Classé in 1855.

Architecture

The castle's architecture is characterized by its winery and cellar origins. The front portion of the building was converted into a house during the second half of the 19th century. Two marble medaillons on the frontage commemorate the different classifications of Château Pouget, including its classification as one of ten Quatrièmes Crus (Fourth Growths) in the historic Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
