Coity Castle

Coity Castle is situated in Heol yr Eglwys, Coity Higher, near Bridgend, in the County Borough of Bridgend, Wales.

History

• The castle was built by Sir Payn "the Demon" de Turberville around 1100. It is believed to have been constructed as part of a larger Norman settlement in the area, with Sir Payn being one of the legendary Twelve Knights of Glamorgan who conquered the region under Robert FitzHamon's leadership.
